Description of problem:
Sometimes, the painter has the unpleasant surprise to find out that the sprayed panel does not match the adjacent panel when the masking paper is removed.
Causes:
- Incorrect spraying technique. Paint is applied too wet or too dry.
- Incorrect spray gun set-up.
- Incorrect spraying pressure.
- Poor opacity.
- Original panel color has been altered because of weathering.
- Color is off shade initially.
Preventive measures:
- Spray test card before application.
- Blend in color.
Remedy:
- Polish adjoining panel to check color.
- Tint the color, sand, repaint.
- Blend in Color.
