Description of problem:
Clouding occurs because of the uneven distribution of the metallic flakes. This phenomenon creates some dark spots and is called clouding.
Causes:
- Spraying viscosity.
- Spraying technique and pressure.
- Spray gun set up.
- Unsuitable thinner.
- Unsuitable spraying temperature.
- Flash off time incorrect.
Preventive measures:
- Adjust material viscosity, spray gun set-up spraying technique (Keep gun perpendicular to panel), flash off time and pressure.
- Use recommended thinner.
- In the case of monocoat 2K metallic you may apply a mist coat immediately after the last spray coat.
Remedy:
- Spray and repaint.
